Stephens is a dynamic singer/songwriter with a superb voice and guitar
style to match.
Challenging
lyrics, from ballads to acoustic funk - Nick has a vocal and stylistic
range that make for a gripping listening experience. In the
fluidity of his melodic lines you may detect the influence of Joni Mitchell,
but in the swooping melisma of his vocal delivery Stevie Wonder
may come to mind. Then again there's that funky acoustic guitar
style. A guitar tuned a sixth below standard pitch enables
him to play bass and guitar simultaneously. So, if you can
imagine a fusion of folk, soul and funk, you may be getting close, but
you really need to hear it to get the picture.
Nick has recorded three albums to date: Here I Am, Send Me
(1990), Nick Stephens Live (1992) and Burn Again
(1993).
